Receive the kingdom: Part 1

There must be a King in order for a kingdom to exist. What kingdom are we talking about here? Both kingdoms, kingdom of heaven(in the clouds) and the kingdom of God(in glory). Christ is king and hold dominion over both of these as Lord of Lord – King of Kings.

I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Did you catch that “came with the clouds of heaven” moment? Now catch more of these “under the cloud/ in the cloud” “through the sea/in the sea”moments indicating heaven and earth.

1 Corinthians 10:1
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;”

1 Corinthians 10:2
” And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;”

To confirm, here is the New Testament account:

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Here is a glimpse of the Kingdom of God (in his glory)as Christ himself is revealed:

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his glory, and of the Father, and of the holy Angels.

And I tell you of a surety, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God.

And it came to pass about an eight days after those words, that he took Peter and John, and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was changed, and his garment was white and glistered. And behold, two men talked with him, which were Moses and Elijah: Which appeared in glory, and told of his departing, which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

But Peter and they that were with him, were heavy with sleep, and when they awoke, they saw his glory, and the two men standing with him. While he thus spake, there came a cloud and overshadowed them, and they feared when they were entering into the cloud.

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is that my beloved Son, hear him. And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone: and they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

Here Peter have just seen the Kingdom of God which Jesus referred to Eight days ago!

Now this next verse is where we find the kingdom of heaven, which is synonymous with the kingdom of God:

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then shall we which live and remain, be caught up with them also in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort yourselves one another with these words.

That is how the Kingdom of Heaven is revealed!

Woe (judgment is coming) to her who is rebellious and defiled, The tyrannical city [Jerusalem]! Her officials within her are roaring lions; Her judges are [as hungry as] the wolves at evening, They leave nothing for the morning.

Her prophets are light, and wicked persons: her priests have polluted the Sanctuary: they have wrested the Law.

Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the Lord, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for I am determined to gather the nations, and that I will assemble the kingdoms to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce wrath: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Based on this passage, we can understand how we are to fear God, examine ourselves, and also reverence Jesus. We must become a servant to his word/ voice & recognize him to receive him as Lord as the thief on the cross. Then we may be received in order to enter into the Lord’s Kingdom.

This preaching of the Kingdom of Heaven is until heaven and earth passes away. That event will transition into the arrival of the Kingdom of God.

Remember how the Lord told us the manner in which to pray:

After this manner therefore pray ye, Our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done even in earth as in heaven.

And I saw a great white throne, and one that sat on it, from whose face fled away both the earth and heaven, and their place was no more found.

These are foundational verses to understand the kingdoms.

Recognize how the thief on the cross had the fear of the Lord and accepted Christ as Lord:

But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Let’s be clear, in regards to having dominion of the earth. We will only reign as kings and Priests IN CHRIST with only his authority as Pastors, Bishops, Apostles, Teachers and Prophets. We are to minister under the message of his ministering spirits (from Christ’s kingdom) TO GOD. This is the message regarding the Lord’s Priesthood. Do not believe anything but read, research and reference for yourself from all biblical sources.

Let’s be rooted in truth so we will not fall into traditional church doctrine: we cannot follow any God, but only the One true God by allowing Christ to introduce us to the father!

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Okay, here is the foundational teaching which John the Baptist, Jesus himself and also Paul the Apostle preached concerning the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven:

..just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. The kingdom was not recognized nor received by tradition nor was it to be.

The glory of God is to conceal a thing secret: but the King’s honor is to search out a thing. The heavens in height, and the earth in deepness: and the king’s heart can no man search out.

We’ll cover where Christ mentions both the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God at times depending on which people he preaches to:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven…” -Matthew 5:3-12

At that time the disciples came to Jesus saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a child, had him stand among them, and said, “I I tell you the truth, unless you turn around and become like little children, (referring to doing the business of your father as Jesus did at 12 years old at Jerusalem) you will never enter the kingdom of heaven! Whoever then humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven

Regarding this particular passage, the reference is that a child was Called(Romans 1:6), the child heard the call and responded and followed. They now have to be willing to learn, and then afterward to be taught. To us, Christ is trying to teach us to become Kings and Priests in the Kingdom of heaven first..his authority was given to Adam and Eve to hold dominion over the earth, not dominion over other people. After they fell and a curse was given to all of them, the curse now included a hierarchy in authority as well. As Heaven is his (God’s)throne and earth is his footstool. We will then see Jesus provide insight to those who already believe in him and the kingdom of heaven; direct them to the kingdom of God.

Christ mentions his angels as ministering spirits (Kingdom of God) consistently. He also mentions the Comforter(the Holy Spirit) who will teach us ALL things. They will also minister to us so we will hear the word of the Lord when we learn Christ’s Kingdom message.

How do we know if the messenger is speaking to and for the Lord God?

He/She should be ready to reveal the words he speaks from the Word of God.

Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands, as saith the Prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: (See Matt 6:10) what house will ye build for me, saith the Lord? or what place is it that I should rest in?

In my understanding, there are various kingdoms which the scriptures refer to regarding Christ’s teachings of both; The Kingdom of Heaven (Grace via Relationship with Christ) as well as The Kingdom of God (via the Spirit and Resurrection) which we are going to be Kings and Priests of.

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

The Kingdom of Heaven, which both John The Baptist and Jesus preached, was primarily a message regarding the kingdom relationship with the King of Kings: Christ as the messiah, (whose shoes John stated that he was not worthy of loosening). Also this is a message of Grace, of which Christ came and he represented Grace to the Pharisees and Sadducees before dying for the world, and afterwards resurrecting himself into the Kingdom of God. His bloodshed is to give all them which he called his people, an inheritance in the kingdom; which is to reign with him!

And (John) preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Old Testament as well:

Christ taught us how to understand the kingdom of heaven when he revealed how to pray: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. What do we know about the kingdom?We know the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God; both will become one kingdom. Just as the three persons of the Godhead who work as one person, the kingdoms will operate as one. The kingdom of heaven is granted by Grace (via the relationship) through Christ. The kingdom of God in the Spirit man is an inheritance; given by Christ from the Father through immortality(by the power of his resurrection).

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? But seek ye first the kingdom of God(Spirit), and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

As we (Believers Only)must first be accepted by him (Christ) and have our relationship with him so that we may join him(Christ) in the coming resurrection (rather we sleep or are alive and remain at his return).

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? There are different kingdoms spoken of regarding scripture. Let’s look at this one regarding the kingdom of God (in Power).

*Here we see that Jesus has received the Kingdom of God as a child,

And he (Simeon)came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again (Resurrection)of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed. And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the GRACE of God was upon him. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

Jesus had already died to the carnal familial nature:

While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Now we come to the kingdom of heaven (by Grace – Jesus)

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Notice what he says again:

And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

We as Followers of Christ can only enter and receive his Kingdom of Heaven by following him as we walk in Grace.

To enter the Kingdom of God is beyond our capacity. God alone must allow our spirit man access to that kingdom through Christ’s grace.

The reason being is those entering the kingdom of God have already died to their carnal nature; died from their need for family relationships as Jesus did, died to the need for food; by fasting and prayer.

And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.(As Anna the prophetess)

So what mindset should we undertake regarding the kingdom of heaven?

Here is the first passage for us:

For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. **Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.

That’s where we can see that there is another mindset which does not originate from a religious or carnal mindset regarding the will of God, because he must permit this will to be accomplished according to the maturity (perfection) of the saints.

1 Peter 1:15-23

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Who is a Jew?

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Luke.18.25

For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
