Satan is given power only by the Lord

Is there evidence or superstition to address if America is in Bible prophecy, as some have said?

Note to Americans, we have a problem which is up for discussion: “The name AMERICA or AMERRIQUE in the Mayan language means, a country of perpetually strong wind, or the Land of the Wind, and sometimes the suffix ‘-ique’ and ‘-ika’ can mean not only wind or air but also a spirit that breathes, life itself.” This is not a recommendation nor proof but what is reported by research. https://www.soulask.com/america-the-land-of-lucifer-the-real-story-behind-the-name

If the Gospel be then hid, it is hid to them that are lost. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds, that is, of the infidels, that the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, which is the image of God, should not shine unto them.

Then I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. Delivering thee from this people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them, which are sanctified by faith in me.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts.26.15,Acts.26.17,Acts.26.18&version=GNV

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Eph.2.2,Eph.2.3&version=KJV

We as followers of Christ must walk in the truth. Let’s recognize 1) we are at war and 2) who we are at war against.

We understand from the word of the Lord that this is a war scenario.

And there was a battle in heaven, Michael and his Angels, fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels. But they prevailed not, neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon that old serpent, called the devil and Satan, was cast out, which deceiveth all the world: he was even cast into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now is salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. But they overcame him by that blood of that Lamb, and by that word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them.

Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, and of the sea: for the devil is come down unto you, which hath great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Rev.12.7,Rev.12.8,Rev.12.9,Rev.12.10,Rev.12.11,Rev.12.12&version=GNV

We can see that “Woe” (cause of distress, an affliction) is to those who live on the earth and in the seas. Why is that? Do we remember what the Lord remembers?

As a father hath compassion on his children, so hath the Lord compassion on them that fear him. For he knoweth whereof we be made: he remembereth that we are but dust.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ps.103.13,Ps.103.14&version=GNV

See here, who does the Lord tell us to fear? It says fear the Lord, not the devil. This is why he has compassion for us.

He did not say this about the serpent who is first enemy of man. The difference between the terminology of the serpent, the devil, Satan etc. may be debatable but we will not discuss that now.

Notice how the generations of people are called “seeds”. This refers to The Parable Of The Tares: Jesus explained it to his followers. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matt.13.36,Matt.13.37&version=KJV

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Gen.3.14,Gen.3.15&version=KJV

What did he say about those he considered his sons? Does the scripture describe angels as Sons of God?

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Heb.1.5,Heb.1.6&version=KJV

It’s definitely evident the scripture describes he first begotten as the son of god. The plural “sons of god” must now be attributed to offspring of the son as well.

Let’s confirm this with other scriptures:

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke.3.21,Luke.3.22&version=KJV

No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John.1.18&version=KJV

For God so loveth the world, that he hath given his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world, that he should condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth in him, is not condemned: but he that believeth not, is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of that only begotten Son of God.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John.3.16,John.3.17,John.3.18&version=GNV

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John.4.8,1John.4.9&version=KJV

Now looking at the passage again:

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1John.3.1,1John.3.2,1John.3.3&version=KJV

Then the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair, and they took them wives of all that they liked. Therefore the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, because he is but flesh, and his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

. ¶ When the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and all the imaginations of the thoughts of his heart were only evil continually, Then it repented the Lord, that he had made man in the earth, and he was sorry in his heart.

Therefore the Lord said, I will destroy from the earth the man, whom I have created, from man to beast, to the creeping thing, and to the fowl of the heaven: for I repent that I have made them.

The Lord was merciful and mankind was given a second opportunity.

And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Job.1.8&version=AMP

And again here:

And on a day the children of God came and stood before the Lord, and Satan came also among them, and stood before the Lord. Then the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? And Satan answered the Lord, and said, From compassing the earth to and fro, and from walking in it.

Side Bar – regarding Moses

He specifically told Moses how he should use the image of a serpent so his people could recognize how the Lord is always in control!

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

We can see how the word gives us the authority to rule in the earth.

1 The Prophet declaring God to be present among the Judges and Magistrates, 2 Reproveth their partiality. 3 And exhorteth them to do justice. 5 But seeing none amendment, 8 He desireth God to undertake the matter and execute justice himself. A Psalm committeth to Aspah.

God standeth in the assembly of gods: he judgeth among gods. How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah. Do right to the poor and fatherless: do justice to the poor and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: save them from the hand of the wicked. They know not and understand nothing: they walk in darkness, albeit all the foundations of the earth be moved. I have said, Ye are gods, and ye all are children of the most High. But ye shall die as a man, and ye princes shall fall like others. O God, arise, therefore judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

We can see resistance and warfare in reality as what happens when the accuser of the brethren has allies against the Lord, specifically in the stoning of Stephen:

1 And in those days, as the number of the disciples grew, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians towards the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministering.

Wherefore brethren, look you out among you seven men of honest report, and full of the holy Ghost, and of wisdom, which we may appoint to this business. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen a man full of faith and of the holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a Proselyte of Antioch, Which they set before the Apostles: and they prayed, and laid their hands on them.

¶ Now Stephen full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. Then there arose certain of the Synagogue, which are called Libertines, and Cyrenians, and of Alexandria, and of them of Cilicia, and of Asia, and disputed with Stephen. But they were not able to resist the wisdom, and the Spirit by the which he spake.

Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and God. Thus they moved the people and the Elders, and the Scribes: and running upon him, caught him, and brought him to the Council, And set forth false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the Law.

For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the ordinances which Moses gave us. And as all that sat in the Council looked steadfastly on him, they saw his face as it had been the face of an Angel.

And he said, Ye men, brethren, and Fathers, hearken, That God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, while he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, And he gave him none inheritance in it, no not the breadth of a foot: yet he promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child. But God spake thus, that his seed should be a sojourner in a strange land: and that they should keep it in bondage, and entreat it evil four hundred years. He gave him also the covenant of circumcision: and to Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day: and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob the twelve Patriarchs. And the Patriarchs moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt, who made him governor over Egypt, and over his whole house. But when the time of the promise drew near, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, Till another King arose, which knew not Joseph.

The same time was Moses born and was acceptable unto God: which was nourished up in his father’s house three months. And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son. Then fled Moses at that saying, and was a stranger in the land of Midian, where he begat two sons. And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sinai, an Angel of the Lord in a flame of fire, in a bush. And when Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to consider it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold it. This Moses whom they forsook, saying, Who made thee a prince and a judge? the same God sent for a prince, and a deliverer by the hand of the Angel which appeared to him in the bush.

This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you, even of your brethren, like unto me: him shall ye hear. This is he that was in the Congregation, in the wilderness with the Angel, which spake to him in mount Sinai, and with our fathers, who received the lively oracles to give unto us. To whom our fathers would not obey, but refused, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, Then God turned himself away, and gave them up to serve the host of heaven, as it is written in the book of the Prophets, O house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? And ye took up the Tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures, which ye made to worship them: therefore I will carry you away beyond Babylon. Our fathers had the Tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. Which tabernacle also our fathers received, and brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, which God drove out before our fathers, unto the days of David: Who found favor before God, and desired that he might find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob. But Solomon built him an house. Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands, as saith the Prophet, Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build for me, saith the Lord? or what place is it that I should rest in? Hath not mine hand made all these things? Ye stiff-necked and of uncircumcised hearts and ears, ye have always resisted the holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you. Which of the Prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them, which showed before of the coming of that Just, of whom ye are now the betrayers and murderers, Which have received the law by the ordinance of Angels, and have not kept it.

But when they heard these things, their hearts brast for anger, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. But he being full of the holy Ghost, looked steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens open, and the Son of man standing at the right hand of God.

Then they gave a shout with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him violently all at once, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, named Saul. And they stoned Stephen, who called on God, and said, Lord Jesus receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had thus spoken, he slept.

Satan has been known to enter or want to use people, especially those in religious circles – start 30 minutes in:

And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

In conclusion:

Remember when we are occupying the territories the Lord has us provided wisdom. We will have an encounter with the enemy of the Lord and will need to be spiritually prepared.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Heb.4.12,Heb.4.13&version=KJV

The Lord showed us what resistance looked like. It’s necessary for us to learn the tactics of warfare because we are targets of the enemy.

Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].” So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.

As a servant on a mission to share the good news, I look forward to sharing the truth from the inspired Word of Lord from the 66 books we reference as the Holy Bible. As in Psalms 105:17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:. I greet you with gladness.
