This study is to bring understanding to the controversy regarding The tree of the KNOWLEDGE of good and evil. We will discuss the fruit as well. The fruit of the tree is a secondary concern in the dilemna of the fall of mankind away from eternal life. Adam and Eve are losing first, their immortality on earth and afterward, their dominion over it. It is my believe and opinion that this topic refers to the lost knowledge of the good and evil in relationships: first of The Lord, then of each other, and finally lost knowledge of the earth(our domain). Adam’s occupation or job title is Agronomist, or Farmer. Is it possible this is because he also came from the soil? It’s a good question. The primary key to farming is knowing the “Generations”. Be it generations of seed, livestock, mankind, etc. We see this word “generations” is consistent throughout scripture.
Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; 2 Male and female created he(God) them; and blessed them, and called their (Both man and woman) name Adam, in the day when they were created. (This is prior to Adam naming his wife Eve where in Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.)
Adam (Both) are in charge of the garden and every creature in the garden was placed there to assist him. All creatures in the garden came before Adam so he would not only recognize them, but as a prophet, name them according to their name the Lord had given him. This was the relationship which Adam (Both) had in the Lord as stated in Gen 2:19. *Jesus (Yeshua) is referenced throughout scripture as being called the Lord(as the Word of God) prior to being the God Man thorough Mary. Jesus is the spiritual manifestation of the Word of God first.
Jesus is simultaneously creating all and confirming to Adam the name of them on the Sixth Day – Gen. 1:24-31. As 2 Peter 3:8 concluded: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. *Gen. 5:5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. In regards to God’s lunar timeline, Adam died on the same day he was created and so will all of us before the return of Christ.
Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
* Gen 1:12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.)
Gen 1:24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. Gen 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.. 8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. 15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. 18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Here we see where all the help for Adam were Creatures! This was the first cycle of help he recieved for his work in the garden. The same was the same process a 19th century farmer or third world nation would use prior to tractors and other motorized devices for farming. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. Here we will see the second cycle of help which was a woman to help him directly, including with dominion which he already held. 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: (10 Bible results for “Deep sleep” from King James Version)* and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. 23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. **This part is critical to understanding the Tree of knowledge!
*Lets see where the enemy encounter began to occur, since the enemy is already in Eden!
We see where the riches are around the outskirts of Eden. Gen 2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. 11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; 12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
The Enemy’s Location:
Ezekiel 28:13 mentions the enemy being in Eden. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
Here is a description in 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. (God will destroy the enemy from within, possibly as the victims of spontaneous combustion are found) Also in Revelations 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. Lets get prepared and be prepared for the coming of our Lord, as he is victorious, and our enemy is already defeated.
Where does temptation come from one might ask? Lets see James 1:13 [v]Let no man say when he is [w]tempted, I am tempted of God: [x]for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own concupiscence, and is enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth [y]sin, and sin when it is finished, bringeth forth death. It basically says temptation comes from man (or woman as in the garden of Eden with Eve) when he or she is drawn away with what he or she wants and is enticed.
That is very accurate to what occurred with Eve’s conversation with the serpent about the Tree of Knowledge.
Here is The Serpent’s Conversation
Gen. 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? There came temptation but who was the source of it, we ask?
Okay, there is the concern. Did you miss it? The woman may be listening and also may be speaking to the serpent as a peer. 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Maybe she comes across as someone with no dominion(God clearly gave her dominion). Is it possible that the serpent befriends her because he sees himself as more of an an authority figure that will show dominion than he views the woman? Or possibly the serpent knows the challenge is to get close to the woman and have her to eat of the tree, because he knows she is NOT to eat it, or to see if she is more of a people pleaser than a God pleaser? The enemy will at times befriend someone and use them to also get to his or her real target. This is why discipleship is critical as well.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. The enemy lied to the woman. It used this conversation to first, approach her and second through prophecy, to convince her that she and her husband was not yet “as gods” and third, would Not surely die. These three elements pursuaded the woman now. She began to look at what was told to her and inspect the tree for what she wanted the tree to be. Her focus was now temporal and no longer eternity based. Her mindset now changed about the tree. Her will is now different towards the fruit of it also as she now disregarded what God had prophetically told her about the tree.
Sometimes our enemies will use The Befriend Tool.
This tool may seem harmless but it is very powerful, and one of many tools in the enemy’s tool box. It is just as powerful in a community of like minded people who can unify. The enemy will always try to put us in a position to see if we can be blamed or if we will remain blameless. Remember Phillipian 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke,. This is why we need a mediator between God and man. Our mediator is the Lord Jesus.
How do we remain Blameless?
*2 Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Again,here is what God really said to Adam:
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them (Both), and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. This first part is the primary focus of most sermons. However lets recognize the totality of what is being said in the next verse. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Here we must recognize the intent of what was said about the trees Adam COULD eat of. These were trees which would have fruit yielding SEED, and shall be good for MEAT.
Gen 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. As Adam and his wife worked in the garden, they were was being watched by everything. That includes Adam’s adversary. The enemy have now befriended his wife and had a conversation with her.
Gen 3: 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, (Then what happens? The woman is enamored with this tree. Did you notice the main emphasis is the tree, not the fruit? Is it possible that now people unfortunately share this same view of a Christmas tree during that holiday. This is another deceptive element which occurred as a by-product of the tree of knowledge if good and evil. It also is a plague people willfully participate in annually and spend millions of dollars. Its not so much about the fruit until the woman is decieved into using Knowledge from the Tree and thinking it will elevate her to being wise and having wisdom.
Now the Lord has given us the information needed to recieve the wisdom which Eve could not ever recieve: Psalm 111:10 Proverbs 1:7 Proverbs 9:10 This is necessary to receive wisdom. It seem that she just ate and NOTHING happened until she offered the fruit to the enemy’s real target, her husband) and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. So what happened after he ate of it? 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. This will be repeated continually for us to see what we lost as immortal. As it states, there was no reason to be covered before eating of the tree of knowledge. Now there is a defined knowledge of being naked. What does being naked do to the conscience mind? Conscience is defined as 1 the inner sense of what is right or wrong in one’s conduct or motives, impelling one toward right action: to follow the dictates of conscience. 2 the complex of ethical and moral principles that controls or inhibits the actions or thoughts of an individual. 3 an inhibiting sense of what is prudent. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. The man and the woman are now conscious: aware of one’s own existence, sensations, thoughts, surroundings, etc. They no longer have the same mind and same thoughts towards one another. This new thought adam may have had could possibly be the challenge thrust on mankind. We can see that thoughts are behind actions. To be spiritually minded as an immortal is in competition to temporary thoughts in occupying on earth within time and space.
There are elements and byproducts coming forth from eating of the tree of knowledge are now godless thoughts. Some of these elements may not be comprehensive, but some possibly can be explained. Sin, lust, death, all are a product of conscious thoughts which mankind are constantly battling. These are elements created by eating of the tree, which resulted in the fall in the garden of Eden. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. Just like the fruit was the product on the tree of knowledge of good and evil, suicide is also a product of our conscience mind not being in alignment with our Lord, and immortal king. Christ Jesus. The conscious thoughts following the forbidden fruit tasting event undoubtedly created mortal men as a product. Mortal men have now released a thought process which makes millions of dollars a day and creates a deadly plague in relationships which people willing participate all over the world. That plague is pornography. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Some of the underlying concerns with a conscious mind is now its a battleground also. A mjor problem most societies wrestle with from that final moment of losing immortality is a relationship shift turning towards Pornography.
Now Adam the man, must answer to the Lord God for recieving the forbidden knowledge that caused him to lose his immortality.
The search: Adam Where Are You
8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
This is not a question of where Adam is physically. The Lord already knows where he physically is! This is a question of Adam’s psyche because he is now conscious and will have an deep understanding of loss. First the loss in the relationship of his role as an Immortal. Then a loss in in the relationship of his role as an authority figure over all the earth and the relationship with all nature and creatures. (True, many creatures are now domesticated but they all were while in the garden). Next there is a loss in the relationship referring to distrust regarding his wife (As god called her Adam the woman) who gave him the fruit. Then there is a loss in his fellowship in the Garden of God. These are challenges for Adam’s relationship and for ours as well. Imagine. This is the same question the bible on your phone, your bookshelf, coffee table is asking of you through the living word.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils
